Sturbridge award

STURBRIDGE — The FreedomView fiberscope from Optim Inc. has been named the 2007 Readers’ Choice Product of the Year by Photonics Tech Briefs magazine.

The FreedomView scope is a hand-held instrument that can be maneuvered into closed or difficult-to-reach spaces, allowing inspectors, law enforcement officers and others to look at structures and scan for contraband.

Optim, a privately held company, will be honored at a dinner next month in New York City.

Photonics Tech Briefs is a publication that targets design engineers and circulates with NASA Tech Briefs, a design engineering magazine.
